Most importantly, terms like these can also dehumanize. We are committed to improving the way we communicate about people dealing with this issue. Paedophilia is a mental disorder recognized by the American Psychiatric Association and we are ready to acknowledge this to further our mission to help protect children and vulnerable people online. Please, don&#8217;t get this wrong or misconstrue our position: Our stance is strong against those who have offended against minors. If a person deals with this issue, they may find it harder to get help if they are stigmatized.
